Who are we?
The team
We are Team Hidden Girona Maastricht, a collaboration between students from Vista College and Escola Tècnica Girona (ETG). Together, we worked on creating a citymarketing project focused on discovering the hidden gems of Girona and Maastricht.
Our team from Maastricht consists of Amy, Nika, Julie, Floortje, Mats, and Dorthijs. The ETG team from Girona includes Biel, Niel, Martina, Jana, Lucia, and Janna. By combining creativity, research, and teamwork from two different countries, we created a project that connects culture, travel, and authentic local experiences.
Our mission
On our website, we love looking beyond the typical tourist spots and discovering what we like to call the hidden gems, those special places you only find when you slow down, wander, and allow yourself to get lost.
In Girona, for example, beyond the famous cathedral and the old town, we love getting lost in the quiet streets of the Barri Vell, discovering small hidden cafés, local galleries, and peaceful corners by the Onyar river where the city feels calm and authentic. Girona is a city where you should look up at the colorful balconies and down at the stone streets full of history.
In Maastricht, the magic is in the atmosphere: bookstores inside old churches, hidden courtyards you can’t see from the street, small local design shops, and cozy bars along the Meuse river. It’s an elegant yet relaxed city, perfect to explore without a map, just by walking and seeing where you end up.
These are not cities you simply visit, they are cities you explore. And that’s where the real hidden gems appear.
